Opened in December, 1999, the Salt Lake County Ice Center is a year-round, indoor ice skating facility located in the heart of Murray just south of Murray Park.  It was the second ZAP (Zoo, Arts and Parks tax) funded recreation facility to open in Salt Lake County.

The Ice Center is also home to the Salt Lake County Sports Offices.

Amenities at the Ice Center include:

1) An Olympic sized ice surface (200' x 100')

2) Seating for 500 spectators

3) A large lobby area

4) Skate rental area

5) Food concessions area

6) Party room

7) Pro shop, with skate sharpening available

8) Dressing room facilities

The County Ice Center was also utilized as a practice venue during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

  Try Hockey For FREE

The Ice Center will be holding a "Try Hockey For FREE" event on Saturday, February 21.  This event is in conjunction with USA Hockey and the National Hockey League, and is part of the annual Hockey Weekend Across America!  This is a great opportunity for beginning level kids age 5-14 to try hockey at NO CHARGE! 

The event takes place from 12:45-1:45pm.  All required equipment is included.  It is recommended that kids bring gloves, and protection for knees and elbows.
